Board Member Shares His Perspective on Baptist Prep
For nine years, Manly Roberts has served on the Baptist Prep School Board. We asked him for his perspective on the current state of the school and its future.
“Little Rock is a very competitive market for private schools, but Baptist Prep never strays from its educational commitments and Christian values just to please the crowd or attract new students,” shared Manly. “I think what makes Baptist Prep special is that it knows what its purpose is and stays the course to its values. This school is run as a business, but God comes first.”
Over the years and in his own family, Manly has seen firsthand the positive impact of Baptist Prep. Both of his children, Alyse (class of 2016) and Manly (class of 2019), graduated from Baptist Prep.
“I have seen the positive impact the staff and teachers have on our students, and I believe that is a product of leading by example,” continued Manly. “My prayer for Baptist Prep is that we would continue to reach, equip and educate our kids through a Christian education and send them on in life with a grounded passion for the Lord.”
A lifelong resident of Little Rock, Manly has operated his own business as a General Contractor for 45 years with his wife Lisa, whom he calls his ‘rock’, by his side.
“I am most excited about is the future of Baptist Prep,” shared Manly. “Since I have been on the board, we have been on a journey with many twists and turns, but now sitting on a strong financial footing and with the leadership we have today, I believe the sky's the limit.”
Thank you, Manly, for the years of service and dedication to Baptist Prep!
